ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL WIN FOR BROCKENCHACK!

The San Francisco International Wine Competition (SFIWC) is one of the largest and most influential wine competitions, with contending wines submitted from locations across the globe. Established in 1980, the SFIWC celebrated its 39th year this year, making it one of the oldest international wine competitions in the world.

This year, we are thrilled to announce that Brockenchack won a gold medal for our 2015 Jack Harrison Shiraz and a silver for our 2017 Charli Jaye Chardonnay.

Both these wines are incredibly special to us as they were crafted in honour of two out of our four grandkids, Jack and Charli.

The Jack Harrison Shiraz is a tribute to our grandson Jack, our soon-to-be Brockenchack winemaker. We love that Jack’s doing something he’s passionate about and luckily for us, that is in the wine industry! Our vision with this wine was to always make a premium offering that stood out above the rest. With each new release of this wine we aim to deliver a wine that all red lover would simply love to drink again and again – something you’d gladly open on any occasion. Tuesday night’s a good occasion in my book!

This Jack Harrison Shiraz also had a recent silver win at the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition, and we’re delighted to have now received gold at the San Francisco International Wine Competition. This wine is racking up the awards, demonstrating a record of quality across many vintages:

2010 – Gold, 2017 NZ International Wine Show

2011 – Bronze, 2015 NZ International Wine Competition

2012 – Gold, 2016 Melbourne International Wine Competition

2013 – Gold, 2018 Melbourne International Wine Competition

2015 – Gold, 2019 San Francisco International Wine Competition

Our premium wine membership, the Cousin program, heroes this Jack Harrison Shiraz, delivering this beautiful expression of cool climate Shiraz to our members’ doorsteps every six months. We have just a handful of places left before we reach the cap for this membership program. If you’d like any information about our membership tiers, please email Megan.

The silver medal awarded to our Charli Jaye Chardonnay was the icing on the cake, as this Chardonnay was crafted in honour of our granddaughter Charli who lives in Queensland and is also achieving amazing things at such a young age. This wine holds a special spot in my heart. As an avid Chardonnay enthusiast, I was eager to deliver a beautiful expression of this fruit, that I’d be proud to call my own and I think this wine achieves that. Marilyn and I certainly love it, and we hope you do to. The 2017 is our third release of this Chardonnay, with the previous two vintages showing quality too with their achievements:

2015 – Top 20 Premium Chardonnays by Drinks Magazine Australia, April/May 2016 edition

2016 – Silver, 2018 San Francisco International Wine Show

2017 – Silver, 2019 San Francisco International Wine Show

As we reflect on the SFIWC and 2019 comes to a close, we’re thrilled to look back on the year that’s been, and how much we’ve achieved. Our wines have received numerous awards from across the globe, reinforcing the quality and consistency in our wines.
