BAROSSA AND BEYOND: EMBER PIZZA

We are thrilled to now be able to kick back into gear with our latest Barossa and Beyond regional recommendations for those of you who may be planning a trip to this part of the country. We are lucky to be surrounded by amazing food and wine venues here and we like to share some of our region's best kept secrets with you all. Today we're loving all things wood fired pizza withEmber Pizzain Nuriootpa.

If you're a Barossa local, changes are you've already visitedEmberand no doubt the experience was nothing other than amazing! This family-friendly restaurant is a fun and relaxed atmosphere that can be enjoyed by everyone - no exaggeration! It is the perfect dining experience for families, couples, girl’s night, or pizza and beers with the boys, and it really suits all ages.

With almost all of their ingredients sourced from local produce, this menu will entice all foodies. Not just the carnivores, but also our vegetarian and vegan friends too (don't forget all our wines are vegan)!

With an emphasis on wood-fired, smoked and chargrilled foods, their menu can be enjoyed by individuals and shared among groups. So let’s cut to the chase... what are the must-haves on their menu? Well, everything is pretty good if you ask us, but we do have a few favourites that we suggest you try when you dine at Ember.

The Classic Margherita:Sometimes simple is best and this pizza delivers on simple but exceptional ingredients. From the traditional homemade pizza sauce, to the proper mozzarella and fresh basil, you really can’t go wrong. If you're ordering take away we suggest pairing their Margherita with our new release; the fresh, juicy and dynamic2020 Tru-Su Rosé.

Truffled Mushroom:For the vegetarians out there, this pizza will leave you with all the happy feels. With a garlic base and topped with mozzarella this isn’t just a typical mushroom pizza and it will have you coming back for more! We suggest pairing this masterpiece with our elegant and sophisticated2017 Charli Jaye Chardonnay.

Pepperoni:Calling all meat lovers, the classic pepperoni pizza always hits the spot with a glass of red. The difference is, this is fueled with incredible local produce and pepperoni like no other. Pair this winning Pepperoni with our2017 Zip Line Shiraz, or our2017 Miss Bronte Cabernet Sauvignon.

Marinated Chicken:Don’t think ‘BBQ chicken’... this is so much more than that! This pizza delivers juicy chicken and delicious mozzarella on an authentic tomato base, that will have you thinking about chicken pizza differently. A gourmet delight to throw into the mix when you dine here. White wine drinkers can pair this with our loveable2020 On Point Pinot Grigio, while red enthusiasts would enjoy this with our memorable2018 Megan Jane Grenache.

Something extremely important to mention.... their pizza dough is like no other and it is amazing!

What about sides you're thinking? Well get excited because there are some perfect side dishes to accompany your pizza. From salt and vinegar hot chips with vegan sriracha mayo, to mozzarella garlic bread or a leafy salad, you are sure to find a side dish to suit your mood. Or do like me and just try all of them! Kids get a look in too with their own pizzas on offer, all made with good ingredients.

When dining in at Ember you must try a cocktail or a gin sourced fromBarossa Distilling Co. Here are our top picks: Kaffir and Verjuice Spritzer / Budburst Gin & Tonic / Generations Gin and Tonic. There are also some great beers, cider, wine and amazing mocktails on offer.
