Welcome to our inaugural Charli Jaye Chardonnay Week! Today, Friday 28th May is Charli’s 18th birthday which kicks off a week of celebrating all things Charli & her Chardonnay. To help you get to know Charli a bit better, we thought we’d share a bit about what has helped shape her into the wonderful young woman that she is.

Charli is the ‘ch’ in Brockenchack, and the namesake of our delicious cool-climate Chardonnay, among other things. Her name is simply one her mum Trudi liked, although her grandfather’s name is Charles, an interesting coincidence? She is Trev & Marilyn’s youngest grandchild and granddaughter (only just… Bronte turned 18 a little over a month ago) but being the youngest certainly doesn’t get in her way.

Our Charli Jaye is a quiet achiever and perfectionist in everything she does. If you live on the Sunshine Coast and have ordered wine from ourwebsiterecently, there is a high chance it was delivered by our Charli on one of her days off from Uni where she’s studying nursing. And nursing couldn’t be better suited to her! She is generous, incredibly intelligent and always thinks of others before herself. Her love of organization is a testament to how effortlessly she balances her studies and work. If you need something done, Charli is the one to ask!

She has always loved dancing (and our On Point Pinot Grigio is named in homage to her and cousin Bronte’s dancing days). Swim squad and surf lifesaving filled up many an early morning and weekend when she was younger. Not unheard of, nor unusual, she has a great relationship with her brother Jack; her mum going so far as to say she idolizes him (don’t worry Charli, Jack doesn’t read the blogs).

Charli is a low maintenance girl, never a problem child. Give her some boots and a flannelette shirt and she is a happy lass. You can see from photos that she used to like playing princess once but she certainly isn’t one by nature. Incredibly loyal and outgoing with friends, whom she loves spending time with, Charli will give anything a go, taking it all in her stride.

Boo & I are so exceedingly proud of you Char. Your help in the office never goes unnoticed, we are unbelievably fortunate to have your eye for detail and a beautiful smile lighting up a room. The sky isn’t the limit if you’re reaching for the stars girl.

We will be having at least one glass of Charli Jaye Chardy tonight and can’t wait to share a glass with you when you can next get down to the farm.

If we can leave you with one thought, it’s this. Chardonnay has come a long way from its heavily oaked, overly buttery style. A long way. Our Charli Jaye Chardonnay is a stunning example of a cool climate expression – pears, apple, a hint of oak spice and a fresh acid thread tying it all together.

Our 2018 Charli Jaye Chardonnay is our fourth vintage and an award winner from the start, receiving gold at the 2020 Melbourne International Wine Competition. You can read more about our delicious cool-climate Chardonnay and how it differs from what you may be expectinghere.
