91 Points- National Liquor News, March 2020 edition | "Cheesecake on the nose. Very unique flavours. Palate is very bright and acidic."

The NLN tasting team deduced that "Cool climate is where Chardonnay seems to be finding its home." ...we couldn't agree more!

Our 2017 Chardonnay announces its arrival with bright aromatics, brought on by a cooler spring with good rains allowing steady growth prior to harvest. Defined aromas of kaffir lime, guava and spring blossom are just the beginning, with elegant flavours of stone fruits, melon, citrus and gentle tropical notes fanning out in due course.

Contemporary chardonnay crafting calls for restrained use of the finest French oak, which allows our ripe fresh fruits to work their charms effortlessly, providing white peach, melon and subtle tropical flavours to lift across the palate, finishing refreshingly soft and purely elegant.

A clean fresh finish is well and truly achieved here, making our Chardonnay a gorgeous and refreshing white wine style.

2017 Vintage Summary:

Eden Valley’s 2017 vintage was an absolute cracker, producing some stand out wines for Brockenchack and delivering 4 gold and 6 silver medals across our range. With good soil moisture and cooler temperatures, the vines were very healthy vines at vintage time – and a later harvest date meant the grapes ripened more slowly, enabling consistent fruit development and a gradual accumulation of sugars and flavours, which is exactly what winemakers are looking for, to produce these high quality wines.
