Our 2018 Pinot Noir is an excellent lighter style red wine, for wine lovers looking for elegance. Pale crimson in colour with lifted violet and cherry aromas, hints of rose and sandalwood. Delicate red fruits entice the palate, bringing a slow dance of white pepper spice that all Pinot drinkers look for. Our Pinot Noir will continue to open up, developing in structure with time in the glass. Soft tannins, shying at first, come to life, giving that perfect finishing grip that world class Pinot Noir must accomplish.

A portion of our Pinot Noir vines are planted at the highest point on our vineyard, sitting at an altitude of approximately 480m above sea level, with the remaining planted in the two coolest spots in slightly lower parts of our vineyard, at an altitude of around 450m. While our whole vineyard enjoys cool climate conditions, these particular patches are the coolest parts, with rocky soils; ideal for pinot ripening.

Hare hunting has been a much-enjoyed pastime for our teenage grandsons over the past couple of years. Despite their best efforts, the lads had never been able to nab one in our Pinot patch… until last year… coincidentally the year of our first release Eden Valley Pinot Noir, and they managed three! This year they added only 1 more to the tally, so the hunt continues…
